For those who work with development, creativity and innovation projects, nothing better than quotes! They boost like coffee!
All those quotes I collected throughout my master. Feel free to submit other quotes!
‘Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.’ Carl Sagan.
This was my master’s thesis epigraph! For me this phrase represents the constant desire for the truth and information. Also, it represents the source of the tireless efforts and inspiration for researching, learning and studying. Which leads us to discover something amazing. I think it is extremely captivating. I haven’t found such a short and catchier phrase to use at my PhD thesis yet (Please, I accept suggestions!).
‘The mind that opens up to a new idea never returns to its original size.’ Albert Einstein.
This was my undergratuation final project epigraph! I also recommend looking for other quotes of Albert Einstein.
‘It would, indeed, be engineering — more than science — that would accomplish the Moon landing, and an engineer who would be the first to set foot on another world.’ James Hansen.
Engineering moves the world, I have said!
‘Protons give an atom its identity, electrons its personality.’ Bill Bryson.
Even more in electrical engineering!
‘An expert is a person who has made all the mistakes that can be made in a very narrow field.’ Niels Bohr.
As some of my teachers used to say: ‘If you came to an easy conclusion, you probably got it wrong!’.
‘If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.’ Carl Sagan, Cosmos.
Remember to always make sure to reference and cite your sources!
‘Student: Dr. Einstein, “Aren’t these the same questions as last year’s (physics) final exam?”. Dr. Einstein: “Yes; But this year the answers are different.”’ Albert Einstein.
This is a way of understanding science. It is the search for the truth. And what is understood as truth today may not be understood as truth tomorrow.
‘To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.’ Thomas A. Edison.
If there is work being done there may be a little mess on the table!
Also, check those:
‘I would rather have questions that can’t be answered than answers that can’t be questioned.’ Richard Feynman.
‘The aim of science is not to open the door to infinite wisdom, but to set a limit to infinite error.’ Bertolt Brecht.
‘If the human brain were so simple that we could understand it, we would be so simple that we couldn’t.’ Emerson M. Pugh.
‘If we are ever to discover the laws of nature, we must do so by obtaining the most accurate acquaintance with the facts of nature, and not by dressing up in philosophical language the loose opinions of men who had no knowledge of the facts which throw most light on these laws.’ James Clerk Maxwell.
